Winchester 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine
Description: SALE PENDING Winchester 1873 3rd Model Saddle Ring Carbine in Caliber 44 WCF aka 44-40. This one has a sharp untouched look to it, nice fitting wood, and great patina with original blue in protected areas. Its 100% original and shows a nice balance of honest wear and condition that is so hard to find in a carbine. It even has a nice Saddle Ring Shadow on the left side of the receiver! Standard 20" Round Barrel, Full Magazine, Semi-Crescent Buttplate with Trap, Carbine Ladder Sights, and Saddle Ring. Serial number is in the 263,000 range. We contacted the Buffalo Bill Historical Center for a Record check and this one entered the warehouse a a 44 Caliber Carbine on May 1, 1888 and shipped out on June 7, 1888 to order number 7175. This is was almost exactly 130 years ago so its has a birthday coming up in a few days. Nice action and a very good bore with no rings or bulges. The 1873 Carbine was highly prized on the American Frontier as a compact utility gun that could deliver great firepower when called upon. They were a favorite of the Texas Rangers, Cowboys, Outlaws, Native Americans, and saw use all over the World.
