Winchester model 1873 rifle, .44-40. Serial #506935B, 1896 manufacture. Strong traces of original blue remaining on frame, barrel and magazine tube. Overall .40% original blue fading to brown, attractive finish. Very good .44-40 bore is strongly rifled. Clear markings overall. Top of barrel at breech stamped "44 W.C.F.", brass block stamped "44 CAL.". Mechanics are excellent holding at both half and full. Original sights. Wood is very good+ and has a beautiful age luster, excellent wood to metal fit, slight age handling wear, no chips or cracks. Correct crescent-style buttplate with compartment, original dust cover. .100% correct and original '73 Winchester rifle in desirable .44-40 with no issues, fine overall.
