Description: 22 inch round barrel with a barley corn front sight and an 1876 marked sporting leaf rear. The barrel, forearm cap, carbine band and dustcover have blued finish and the receiver, lever, hammer and carbine style buttplate have color case hardened finish. Full length carbine style walnut forearm with matching carbine style buttstock. Condition is excellent overall as refinished/restored with the barrel finish turning brown. The receiver, lever and hammer show 95% vivid case colors and the carbine style buttplate has perhaps 90% slightly muted colors showing. The stocks are solid and full fitting showing about 90% finish with just light wear and handling marks. Comes with factory letter showing it was manufactured in 1890 as a “Carbine” “Caseharedened” in “45/70 Caliber”.
