WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 RIFLE IN 40-60 WCF

Description:
28 inch octagon barrel chambered in 40-60 WCF caliber with a good shiny bore. Sights include a German silver blade front and a folding ladder rear. Most thinning original blue remains on the barrel with sharp corners. Full length magazine tube has good amounts of original blue in the protected areas with the balance turning plum/brown. Receiver has about 50% blue with some thinning to the high points. Traces of case colors on the hammer and lever. Good nitre blue on the loading gate. Crisp action. Walnut stocks are in good condition with scattered light handling mars. Crescent rifle style buttplate. Only 6,612 octagon 28 inch barrels were made in the 40-60 caliber. This Winchester was made in 1887 and went into the warehouse January 1891 and shipped out of the warehouse October 1891.
