1891 Antique WINCHESTER M1885 LOW WALL .22 SHORT SINGLE SHOT Rifle WILD WEST
John M. Browning’s First Design and Patent
Description: 1891 Antique WINCHESTER M1885 LOW WALL .22 SHORT SINGLE SHOT Rifle WILD WEST John M. Browning’s First Design and Patent Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, chambered in .22 Short, made in 1891 in New Haven, Connecticut. The Model 1885 Single Shot rifle was famed gun designer John M. Browning’s first design and patent, and it was the first single shot to be built by Winchester. The patent for the Model 1885 rifle was what brought Browning and the Winchester Repeating Arms Company together for the beginning of their eventual 19-year association. Nearly 140,000 Model 1885s (both Low Walls and High Walls) were manufactured from September 1885 to June of 1920. This one has a number 1 weight blued octagonal barrel with barrel mounted sights. The receiver and butt plate wear an old nickel refinish that makes this rifle striking in appearance. The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish with an old nickel refinish. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition, definitely shot and still shootable, with good rifling. The walnut stock is solid and showing use. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 28 inches. Caliber: .22 Short Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2100 #233517 SOLD Antique: Yes |
