Winchester 1885 .40-65 BPCR
Description: This rifle started out as a Miroku manufactured Limited Series Winchester Model 1885 High Wall .45-90 Creedmoor Single Shot BPCRs with a serial # 4 from a lot of 126 rifles. The rifle was rebarreled with a 32” full octagon Green Mountain barrel chambered for the .40-65 Win. The rifling twist rate is one in 16. An MVA front sight was installed and the stock very nicely inletted with a brass emblem. The rifle was fully disassembled and cleaned. It’s in excellent condition with a perfect chamber and bore. There are some very faint scratches on the receiver and the stock has a few tiny “safe dings”. The rear sight is a vernier soule-style windage-adjustable design made by AMT for Winchester. It comes with an aperture with hole a size of 0.052”. I recommend replacing the aperture with a Hadley-style selectable aperture. The front sight is a windage-adjustable, hooded, globe-type, spirit-level design manufactured by MVA. The rifle does not come with front sight inserts, but they can be purchased from MVA or other suppliers. The barrel has been drilled and tapped for scope mounts with a spacing of 17”. On a very accurate postage scale, the rifle weighs 11lbs 15oz with the sights and eyecup installed. The trigger sear has been worked on by a gunsmith, resulting in a very nice crisp 1lb 5oz trigger which is ideal for silhouette or target competition. I SELL TO CALIFORNIA BUYERS FOR NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. A signed copy of your dealer’s FFL will be required with their phone number. The rifle will be shipped to the address on the FFL. Shipping and handling is $60.00 (CONUS only), which also covers full insurance. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii will require an additional charge. I only ship FedEx ground and the rifle will be fully insured. Texas residents are required to pay 7.75% sales tax. For immediate shipping US Postal Service money orders are required. Certified cashier’s checks will delay shipping 5 business days. A phone number is required to contact the issuer of a cashier's check for verification. No other forms of payment are accepted. Specializing in Browning and Winchester BPCR's, rifles are displayed and described as accurately as possible and I have not had an unsatisfied customer. As a seller of scores of Browning and Winchester BPCRs, and having written and published a book on the rifles, you can trust that each rifle, new or used has been fully checked out and is in the conditioned advertised. THE PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL RIFLE BEING SOLD. Thanks. SOLD Rifle Caliber: .40-65 Winchester |
