Winchester 1885 High Wall 45-70 - Custom Build
Description:
*** FIREARM IS SOLD ***
Another fine “Estate Firearm” offered for sale by DenKirk Arms – This Winchester Model 1885 High Wall single action rifle in 45-70 caliber, manufactured in 1910, was custom restored by Bob Gilman of Gilman / Mayfield of Fresno, California in the mid-late 1980’s, with special order features like a Satin Plus blued high gloss finish and an Exhibition Grade wood stock & fore end, finishing the stock with an original crescent butt plate.
Barrel - The 1 1/8” diameter tapered octagon barrel was turned to round starting at 12” from the receiver, producing a 1/3 octagon & 2/3 round barrel down to 13/16” diameter at the end of the muzzle, which was then finished with a concave muzzle. The bore is bright with strong rifling and the action is in excellent mechanical condition.
Sights - The front sight is a Lyman Series 17A hooded sight with an insert. The barrel rear sight is an original Winchester Model 1892 flip-up ladder sight, in original condition. The rear tang sight is a flip-up David Pedersoli Track Of The Wolf mid-range peep sight.
This Winchester 1885 High Wall 45-70 rifle is an exceptional piece that gets many compliments when it is displayed in public for sale. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary buy.
Buyer pays $75.00 for shipping & insurance. DenKirk Arms accepts USPS Money Orders or Bank Cashier’s Checks, with a normal shipping hold to bank clear the funds. Layaway is available with a 1/3 down payment and remaining 1/3 payments due 30 & 60 days after initial down payment.
