**SOLD**Winchester Model 1885 High Wall .32-40 28" Barrel Single Shot Rifle 1919mfg**SOLD**9/22
Description: **SOLD**Winchester Model 1885 Sporting Rifle High Wall chambered in .32-40, manufactured in 1919. This rifle features the traditional falling block mechanism, with a solid steel frame, in the "High Wall" configuration, with some of the original case hardening still visible on the frame. The barrel is the #3 weight octagonal barrel with a blued finish, in an unusual 28" length, perhaps a custom ordered option from the factory, along with the globe-style front sight and diopter rear sight fitted to the frame. The original case hardening can also been seen on the action lever, as shown. The rifle is in truly excellent condition, considering it turned 101 years old this year. The blued finish has only small areas of wear, and the walnut stock/forend is in great shape with only small handling/storage marks, and one very small crack on the left side of the forearm rail. The butt plate has some corrosion damage, as shown, however it is still solid and serviceable. The bore is in superb shape, with the exception of the very last 1/4" at the muzzle, which shows some pitting, as seen in the photos. The action is smooth and locks tightly, and the trigger mechanism operates as it should. This is a truly wonderful example of a classic and iconic target rifle, in spectacular condition, considering its advanced age. Please refer to the photos prior to purchase. C&R OK. Shipping $100.00 / UPS**SOLD**
