.33 WINCHESTER 1886
Description: PRICE REDUCED TO $1850 This 1886 Winchester, while certainly showing its age by its even brown receiver patina, still shows a lot of blue on the barrel. Also apparent is the fact that this rifle has not been putzed by some backyard gunsmithing. The screws are pretty much unbuggered and very clean. The whole rifle is tight and crisp and the action displays that legendary ’86 Winchester butter-smoothness that ’86 fans love. Other than for the rear sight, which appears to be a replacement (early Marbles-marked), the rifle is bone stock. It’s chambered for the .33 Winchester cartridge which, in this writer’s opinion, has been sorely underappreciated through the years. Luckily, it’s now coming into its own as more modern shooters see it for the wonderful cartridge that it is. The bore is a bit dark and could use some good scrubbing to restore the shine to the otherwise strong rifling. There is an oil streak stain on the left side of the stock that could be professionally removed, or just left for the genuine character it adds to this very desirable rifle. This is a rifle is certainly nice enough to be desirable, but not too nice to shoot. And, it does shoot quite well. Price: $1,850 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
