1886 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine 45-70 Shipped to France WWI
Description:
Rare 1886 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine in 45-70 shipped to France during WWI. See picture of Confirmation Sheet. You don’t usually get that much info pertaining to 1886 Winchester’s, but check out the detailed info on this gun. 22” barrel and full magazine retain 70 to 75% original blue with the remaining turning a gray / brown patina. Excellent markings: barrel, receiver, and tangs. I will rate the bore a very nice 8 on a scale from 1 to 10. Original front and rear sights. Receiver is a nice gray / brown patina with traces of original blue in protected areas. Action functions very well. Both pieces of wood are in above average condition, no apparent cracks or chips. 86 SRC’s are rare to begin with, then throw in the fact the info on where it was sent, is even rarer. Don’t forget most 86 SRC’s you normally see for sale are in the unpopular calibers, this one is in the ever popular 45-70. Please feel free to ask questions.
