S# 61991, 38-56 W.C.F., 26 inch barrel, good bore with strong sharp rifling showing light frosting and a few small areas of light erosion.
This 1891 built rifle remains in good condition with strong traces of case colors visible on receiver, lever and hammer.
receiver shows silvering and has a nine digit number lightly scratched in bottom.
Lever and hammer have developed a dark patina.
The barrel and mag tube have a grey/brown patina with traces of blue in protected areas.
A Lyman bead front sight is present with rear slot holding a period filler.
A Lyman tang sight with correct N marked base is mounted on tang.
Wood was refinished long ago, metal is now slightly proud in some areas.
Wood has a nice dark oil finish and shows scattered light marks.
A tiny notch in comb allows the tang sight to fold down.
Butplate is rather evenly pitted with a grey patina.
The forend is missing a small splinter-on right side at nosecap.
