FINISH: Bluing on barrel, and receiver has worn off, metal in the white. No signs of rust, some small knicks on barrel.
WOOD: Nice brown patina, finish shows wear from age, scratches from handling, gouge/chip on right side of forearm.
BORE: Light frost, good rifling
MECHANICS: Solid lever action, strong hammer
ASSESSMENT: Except for the bluing and a chip onthe wood this is still one very stout, solid gun at 9 3/4 lbs. Remember this is one of the strongest actions made by Winchester to take advantage of more powerfu center fire cartridges of the time. Great gun for a beginning Winchester collector.
