Browning Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine in 45-70
Description: Browning Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine in 45-70. This carbine was a limited run manufactured by Miroku in 1992/93. It is chambered in 45-70 and has a blue 22" round barrel and full magazine held together with a carbine barrel band. It has blue finished action and has standard straight grained walnut stocks, with a blue steel carbine buttplate. Condition: The overall condition of this carbine is excellent, close to new. It features a 22-inch round barrel with excellent clean, sharp rifling. The blue steel action is crisp and and locks up firm, just like new. The factory deep bluing is in 98% or better condition. The straight grained walnut stocks show very minor handling marks from use and storage. There is no finish loss around the saddle ring because a leather thong is in place to prevent damage caused by it banging and rubbing against the action. It is equipped with a rear graduated leaf carbine sight and pinned blade front sight. This is a true version of Winchester's 1886 carbine, as close as you can get in a modern firearm. It is chambered in hard hitting 45-70 and does not have the rebounding hammer and tang safety typical of the more recent versions made by Browning / Miroko. These are very handy rifles which can used for hunting, on the farm or homestead, out on the range neatly held in a saddle scabbard, or just to own and plink with.These are really neat rifles.
