Description: VERY FINE 1886 .45-70 OCTAGON RIFLE, #88XXX, MADE 1894. A really attractive rifle that shows fine barrel and mag blue with only minor dulling from age. the receiver is an uncleaned dull mottled gray with some case colors in the most protected areas- like on each side of the receiver by the hammer etc. Fine blue on the loading gate. Good blue on the bolt with some freckling. Excellent screw heads, tight action, sporting ladder rear sight with slide intact and Winchester blade front sight. Strong hammer spring with solid safety half-cock. Fine butt stock and forearm showing only normal light handling and very tight wood to metal fit. Exc. markings and best of all, the bore is about minty bright and excellent! A sharp '86 in a great caliber.
