Description:
Here's a very decent '86 with a special order 28" octagon barrel.
SN 55532 made in 1891.
This is a tight gun with notable finish wear but a very good bore and solid mechanical function.
The blueing has mostly worn to a light grey patina with some faint straw/greenish undertones, but with no notable corrosion or pitting.
The original wood is solid with no cracks, having darkened with age and added coats of finish. I don't think it was sanded much, since the wood is still flush or proud to the metal everywhere, and shows typical scattered dings and weathered grain.
The action is excellent; smooth and crisp with all proper functions and no lever drop.
The bore is very good with distinct rifling and even frost throughout but no observed pitting.
This rifle retains its original sights in good shape.
Comes with a Cody search letter confirming configuration.
Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska is an additional $150
