Description:
This Winchester rifle, serial number 117591, was manufactured in 1898 and is classified as an antique. It was shipped with three special-order features: the double set-trigger, 30-inch octagon barrel and an ivory bead front sight. The 40-65 caliber bore is excellent; mechanically excellent as well. There are a few handling marks on the barrel however, the buttstock is the one area of this rifle that shows the most marks from being in the field. The case colors on the receiver are mottled and fading – are perhaps at 35-38%. The barrel and magazine are estimated at about 90%. The fore-stock is very nice with a few marks. No finish remains on the crescent buttplate and it shows freckles as noted in one of the pictures. Please review the photos closely to assess condition. I have listed this item for a friend. I will provide his contact information to interested parties. I suggest that you speak with the seller to confirm your assessment of the condition of this fine rifle.
Note that this item can be returned only if damaged during shipment. The seller is presently investigating to determine the best method and cost for shipping this item with the appropriate insurance amount. This listing will be updated to address shipping cost once it has been determined. Item will be shipped by an FFL; no license to purchase is required as this item is classified as an antique. A copy of a photo-id from the buyer is required. Please do not attempt to purchase this item if the laws of your state prevent your receipt of this item. Will be shipped according to the laws of the ship-to destination.
