Winchester Model 1886 Documented Antique Special Order chambered in .45-70 W.C.F. It was manufactured in 1897 an is in fine condition. It features a 24" round barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, and a walnut stock. It is fitted with a Lyman beaded blade front sight and folding ladder notch rear sight. The rifle was returned to the factory in 1905 and that might have been when the stock was replaced. It has a straight grip stock and a special ordered checkered, hard rubber, shotgun butt plate. It retains about 40% of the original blue finish and about 50% of the original case colors. It shows some handling marks with very light surface pitting. The replacement wood has been sanded and re-oiled and shows some handling marks. It is mechanically excellent. SN: 113925 .45-70 Government
