Winchester Model 1886 full deluxe rifle in caliber 33 WCF, extra light 24" round barrel, 1/2 mag, take down, XXX pistol grip stocks with "H" style checkering, shotgun butt with checkered steel butt plate, Lyman #4 Hunting front sight, Winchester flat top sporting rear sight with thumb print elevator, blued finish, nickel steel barrel, serial number 156028. Being a late make for this model, no serial number application date or configuration data is on record at the Cody Museum, but the record in the ledger shows it was shipped from the warehouse on January 7, 1920 to order number 84284. Grades Very Good. Action is tight, as is the take down feature, no wobble anywhere, half cock safety functions properly, bore is a 9.5 of 10, bright any shiny with sharp rifling, no pitting, no bulges, no craters, not a 10 because I'm sure it has been fired so I can't call it new. Hammer, bolt, lever and back half of barrel retain 50% original fine aged blue. Mag tube, receiver, and front half of barrel are 5% patina from wear and use. Stocks are sound, no splits, no cracks, no extra holes, never cleaned, never sanded, never refinished. Butt stock still proud.
