Description:
26 inch octagon barrel chambered in the desirable 45-70 caliber with a very good bright shiny bore. Sights include a sporting blade front with graduated leaf folding rear. Barrel and full length magazine tube retain about 70% faded blue spots of pitting. Forend cap is a brown/blue color. Receiver has traces of blue in the protected areas with the balance fading to brown/gray with some surface corrosion. Hammer and lever are mostly gray/blue. Faded blue on the loading gate. Crisp tight functioning action. This rifle is possibly a victim of some poor storage. Walnut stock set is in good condition with some added finish applied over scratches and handling mars. Rifle style buttplate. A very usable Winchester rifle that should be a good shooter and was made in 1912.
