Winchester Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine, 40-65 WCF
Description:
Early Winchester 1886 SRC SN-50838. Manufactured in 1891. Although rumored to have belonged to Capt. John Hughes, Texas Rangers, it has not been proven to date (that i know of). The old fellow Kansas collector I bought it from told me he bought it from the Round Rock Texas area in the early 1980’s. It has initials CJ carved and a notch cut on both sides of the stock. Saddle ring has been ground off. Great wood to metal fit. In the photo attached, John Hughes is holding what looks like an 1886 saddle ring carbine with the ring stud ground off. Blue on barrel and magazine have mostly turned to brown. Some colored case hardening still visible on the frame. Very good over all condition. The cartidge box in picture is not included. Great collectable gun.
Shipping and Insurance cost will be added to the purchase.
Will only sell and ship to residents of the lower 48 United States.
