Winchester Model 86 High Condition Takedown Rifle
Description: Winchester Model 86 rifle in caliber 33 WCF, serial number 155522, made in 1921, all metal parts have blued finish except for the case hardened lever, 24" round rapid taper barrel with ramped Lyman #4 Hunting front sight, folding Marble's rear sight, special order full magazine (1/2 magazine was standard at this point for the 33 WCF rifles), plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, later correct hard rubber Winchester logo shotgun butt plate (no widow's peak on top toe), Climbin' Lyman receiver sight added at some point (marked "DA" which is for the Model 1894, should be marked "NI" for the 33). Original bluing is overall 97% with some flaking on the fore end cap and a few spots of common wear. Take down is tight with no wobble. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks; the butt stock has a filled swivel hole in the bottom toe line. Bore is excellent, bright and shiny with sharp rifling. Action is smooth with a properly-functioning half cock safety. Fired a few Remington Kleenbore rounds through it at 50 yards last weekend and it is extremely accurate, ready to take on deer and bear at your favorite hunting spot! Sadly, the record on file at the Cody Museum from the original factory ledgers only shows the shipped from the warehouse date of October 7,1921 to order number 7948-65 with no configuration data filled in, but the basic configuration (without the changes in rear sights) is definitely correctd and original. TERMS: Offers entertained and considered. No international sales and no sales to Alaska or Hawaii. Must ship to FFL or C&R license holder. Sales to California and New York will only be shipped to an FFL dealer, no exceptions. Buyer pays $60 for shipping and tracking by USPS Priority Mail. Payment by personal check, bank check or USPS money orders All major credit cards accepted with 4% convenience charge added. 3-day, non-firing inspection with buyer responsible for return shipping.
