EXCEEDINGLY RARE MODEL 90 IN DESIRABLE .22 LONG RIFLE CHAMBERING WITH FACTORY 23" ROUND BARREL, #800XXX, MADE JUST BEFORE THE GREAT DEPRESSION IN 1929 (The Winchester dates of manufacture books seem to suggest that serial numbers for these topped out in 1932 at about 752000 with higher numbers after this date chosen at random up to about #849100). Checking with the Winchester Collectors Association online serial number look-up, this serial number shows a manufacture date of 1929. The 23" round barrels were seldom used during the "parts clean-up" of the Model 90 and most found today also have the oval P "mail order" proof mark indicating the barrel was sold separately as a replacement. This rifle has only the normal Winchester proofs on the barrel and receiver ring. This rifle is in exceptional condition with the receiver retaining most of the original blue with only some  small areas of light flaking to brown on the right side with the balance showing exc. blue with some light scratches on the left side and the lightest of wear on the bottom of the trigger guard bow. Even the upper and lower tangs retain fine bright blue. The barrel and mag tube show bright blue. Excellent correct late markings. Excellent stock and forend with tight wood to metal fit and retains about all the original wood finish. Correct rear sight with very rare an unusual front sight with "revolving blade/beads" for different bead types! Bore is minty bright. A really great and rare M-90 variant in a desirable caliber! Almost never seen like this.
