Description: ****************SALE PENDING**************** A customer has committed to the purchase of this listing. It takes time to complete a purchase so the listing may be "SALE PENDING" for some time before the transaction is completed. Another “ESTATE” firearm listing brought to you from Dust 2 Dollars who prides themselves on showing the complete gun in high quality pictures along with a detailed description for your consideration. We offer you a “Restored” Winchester Second Model 1890 Pump Action Rifle Chambered in .22 Short from 1906. The Winchester Model 1890 pump action rifle was designed by John Browning in the late 1880’s, patented in 1888 and renamed the Model 90 in about 1919. For many years the Model 1890 was chambered in .22 Short as this one is. They were considered to be the standard for use in shooting galleries of the time and hence were nicknamed “Gallery Gun”. This 1890 wears the serial number of 272798 which makes the year of manufacture 1906 making it 116 years old. The rifle was restored several decades ago by a very well-known local Gunsmith. The 24 inch barrel has a very fine bore that is bright with no pitting. The markings are very clear as shown and the flats are clean. There are a few spots that very fine pitting can be seen under the finish though. The receiver finish is in excellent condition with the top of the receiver rings showing some very fine pitting under the finish. The stocks are in excellent condition with one mark in the butt stock as shown. There has been a modern Marble’s tang sight added to the rifle as shown. A function test was performed and the rifle loads, fires and ejects just fine. The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED JUNE 26.88.DEC. 6.92.”, “-MOD. 1890-“, and at the receiver “22 SHORT”. The upper tang is marked “WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK”. The lower tang and the front underside of the receiver are marked with the serial number “272798”. ****************SALE PENDING**************** This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $60. It will be shipped in a double walled cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe. Payment to be made by USPS Money Order or Cashier’s Check. All firearms come with a 3-day inspection from D2D’s. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Rifle Caliber: .22 Short |
