Cal. .22 Long - ANTIQUE
Description:
Winchester Model 1890 - 2nd Model TD - Cal. .22L - 24" Bbl. - SN 24XXX(1894). Bore is about excellent with bright, sharp rifling - shows some very mild roughness in some of the grooves - I grade it 8.5 to 9 out of 10. Metal is excellent with no rust, pits, or corrosion - sharp edges and markings - excellent action with perfect lock-up - the bolt may be a period replacement as it retains most of the deep blue. Barrel retains about 90% blue with some characteristic thinning - case colors on the frame have drifted to a medium to dark mottled patina as has the buttplate. Wood is sound and solid with about 95% finish and only a few minor scuffs and dings, mostly on the bottom of the buttstock. Overall, a very nice old antique 1890 in the desirable 2nd Model .22 Long caliber, all original, and in Fine to near Excellent condition that will make a great shooter and collectible!
