Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring .38 WCF caliber carbine. Manufactured in 1903. Bore has fair to good rifling with frost in the grooves. The action works smoothly and perfectly. The carbine has a blue/brown patina with a good bit bluer than brown. The left side of the butt stock has some old repairs, but the stock is rock solid and the repairs were well done. This carbine has tack decoration in the stock in the style of décor favored by Indians who decorated captured guns with tacks. As this carbine was made in 1903, we can say it is way late for Indian use. However, it is certainly good looking and shows some use but has been well cared for. Neat carbine and in popular .38-40 caliber. So you can carry it with your .38-40 Colt Single Action!
