92 SADDLE RING CARBINE

Description:
Cal 38-40. Early antique serial number range. Flip up carbine rear sight. Near excellent bore. Overall gun has seen a lot of use and probably was carried every day. Numerous holes where there is tacks stuffed in on both sides of the forearm as well areas on the stock. On the back part of the stock are the numbers "909" placed perhaps by a blacksmith with metal and tacks. Done 100+ years ago and the wood has worn down around them considerably. Interesting gun. It has a replacement saddle ring and loss to the forearm from saddle wear next to the frame.
