ANTIQUE WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 TAKE DOWN RIFLE IN CALIBER 38 WCF
Description:
24 inch octagon barrel. Original sporting front sight with nickel silver blade, a half buckhorn sporting rear and a Lyman combination tang sight. Full length tube magazine. Takedown frame. Plain walnut forearm with matching straight grip buttstock fit with crescent rifle buttplate. Barrel shows 60% thinning blue starting to turn brown. Magazine shows 70% dull blue. The receiver shows 30% original thinning blue with the balance turned a brown gray patina. Very good bore is bright and shiny with scattered light pitting and strong rifling. Action is crisp and tight. The stocks have been freshened up showing light refinish over remaining light handling marks with the buttstock having some filler on each side of the upper tang where it meets the receiver and the forearm has a hairlinecrack on the left at the front. Manufactured in 1895.
