Description: EXCELLENT CONDITION, VERY EARLY PRODUCTION 1892 .38-40 ROUND BARREL RIFLE, #9XXX, MADE 1893 WITH FACTORY LETTEER. Great condition for such an early example, this one shows most of the high polish factory blue on the receiver with only some minor scratches, edge wear and upper tang wear. There is some gray/silvering by the serial number on the receiver bottom with some good light case color on the upper portions of the lever and on the hammer. Excellent receiver screw heads still have old grease in the slots. Only the tang screw is a little buggered. Barrel and mag blue is fine and deep showing minor age and scuffing. Exc. markings, exc. stock and forend showing only light handling with tight wood to metal fit. Buckhorn rear sight with elelvator bar intact and Winchester blade front sight. Tight action with strong safety half-cock, bright exc. bore with any corrosion too minor to describe. Factory letter verifies caliber, barrel etc. and shows received in the warehouse on March 30, 1893 and shipped July 27, 1893. This is a high condition 132 year old 1892 with great appearance. Hard to find early production guns in this fine state of preservation.
