WINCHESTER 1892 SRC WITH HISTORICAL CLAIMS
Description: This 1892 is believed to have traveled to the North Pole in the hands of Mathew Henson who took part in the Peary expedition of 1908/1909. Cal 44 WCF. 20" round bbl, full length mag tube and carbine butt. Sights include German silver blade front sight and folding ladder rear sight. Overall metal is a plum/brown color with traces of blue in protected areas. Bore has strong rifling with scattered roughness. Wood has been oiled and has several dings and dents with a chunk out at the frame on the right side. Comes complete with factory letter, a book about Mathew Henson, a National Geographic with articles about Peary's expeditions and about Mathew Henson and some Newspaper clippings.
