Winchester M1892, SRC, .38-40, 16 1/4”, Loop Lever, Restored, Rooster Cogburn Tribute, SN:25405
Description: This M1892 Winchester Rifle was shipped from the warehouse on Dec. 01, 1894. The Factory records indicate it was shipped as a .44 Cal. Carbine, no other information is available. I imagine this old rifle has seen a lot in the last 127 years. Most recently it has been restored to the configuration favored by Rooster Cogburn. The barrel has been replaced with a .38-40 Cal. only 16 ¼” long. The lever has been modified to replicate Roosters Loop. The receiver, Butt Plate, and Lever have been nicely color case hardened. The bore is excellent, and the action works fine. This is an excellent rifle for John Wayne / Rooster Cogburn fans. A very cool Antique Winchester. .38 WCF caliber with a 16 ¼” inch barrel. Serial Number: 25405. ANTIQUE, No FFL or C&R Required.
