Winchester Model 1892 218 Bee
Description: This Winchester started life as a Model 1892 saddle ring carbine in 1908 (serial #450350). It was small caliber, either .25-20 or .32-20. Sometime in 1937 or after it was returned to the factory, fitted with a Model 65 lever and lower tang, and re-worked. We’ll never know for sure what it left the factory chambered for this second time, because we got it as an action only. There is an assembly number on the lower tang and it is factory finish, with the saddle ring stud holes on the left side tapped and filled with screws the same as the front mounting screw hole in the upper tang. Receiver sight holes have also been added to the left rear of the receiver. All this appears to be factory work. Columbia Precision fitted the stocks, magazine, barrel and sights. The barrel is a replacement – not original Winchester, but marked accordingly with all the proper dovetails and contours. It is now in the exact conformation in which the Model 65 was produced, and in the sought after .218 Bee caliber - one of the original "wildcats" from the '30's. There is a mend on the butt stock on the right side where the upper tang meets the receiver, and the stocks are originals, not reproductions. This is a great opportunity to have a Model 65 (1892) Winchester in .218 Bee at half the price of an original in similar condition. And, it shoots like a new barrel because it is! Shipping is $75.00. Priority, insured.
