This is a Winchester Model 1894 rifle in .38-55 Winchester. The serial number dates to 1901. The action has Good patina with some pitting and horizontal scratches on the bottom 1/3 of both sides. The sides of the lever and the hammer have light pitting. The octagon barrel is currently 24 5/8 inches. It has been cut and recrowned. The barrel and magazine tube have Good patina with small spots of pitting.The bore is pitted with Good rifling. The straight grip butt stock has a crescent steel butt plate, and the fore end has an end cap. Wood is in Very Good condition.
