1897 mfr Antique WINCHESTER 1894 Lever Action .38-55 Rifle OCTAGONAL BARREL Iconic Repeater Made in New Haven, Conn.
Description: 1897 mfr Antique WINCHESTER 1894 Lever Action .38-55 Rifle OCTAGONAL BARREL Iconic Repeater Made in New Haven, Conn. Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle in .38-55, made in 1897 in New Haven, Connecticut. .38-55 was the first chambering for the Model 1894, though the latest and greatest smokeless powder loaded .30 WCF, better known as .30-30, would fast eclipse the .38-55. This rifle features a 26-inch octagonal barrel and crescent buttplate. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. The overall condition is very good. Strong, crisp action. Some of the original blue finish is present throughout with patina. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. This example sports a solid stock that shows an average amount of handling wear from use and storage. We have here a solid, early example of a Winchester Model 1894 that would be a great addition to the collection! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 26 inches. Caliber: .38-55 WCF Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2500 #247337 SOLD Antique: Yes |
