1915 WINCHESTER 1894 SADDLE RING Carbine .30-30 WCF C&R Threaded Muzzle JMB WWI Era Manufactured for Maxim Silencer
Description: 1915 WINCHESTER 1894 SADDLE RING Carbine .30-30 WCF C&R Threaded Muzzle JMB WWI Era Manufactured for Maxim Silencer Here we present a C&R Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, made in 1915 in New Haven, Connecticut. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. This one has been threaded at the muzzle by a gunsmith during the period for a Maxim Silencer. Known Winchester factory threading for these silencers was interrupted so that the device could be installed with just a quarter turn upon insertion. However, the tooling to accomplish this was not something that gunsmiths typically had and therefore they cut standard threads. The overall condition is good. Original finish. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition, reflective with rifling that has certainly been shot but remains in good shape for further shooting. The forearm is original but the butt stock is a very old replacement that is a bit shy around the tangs but very solid and serviceable. Clear, legible markings. This one comes in a rifle scabbard that looks like it was made for the US government. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 20 inches. Caliber: .30 Winchester Center Fire (.30-30) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1750 #227514 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
