Antique Winchester Model 1894 32-40 Extra Long 28" Barrel Will Letter
Description: You are viewing one used Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle in caliber 32-40. This is a special order rifle that has a factory 28" octagon barrel, 2 inches longer than standard and will letter as such (see last pic). Due to the fact that extra long barrels were discontinued in 1908, any 1894 with a longer barrel is quite a rarity. Otherwise this is standard in every other way - full magazine, crescent buttplate. Original sights include the Rocky Mountain rear sight with serrated edges and early elevator and a knife blade front sight. Bore is very good, an 8 of 10, strong rifling with scattered very light pitting, and is accurate - I have shot this with factory ammo and it held a three-shot group inside a silver dollar at 50 yards. Action is crisp and tight; half-cock safety functions as normal. Not warranted as a shooter though unless you have it inspected by a competent gunsmith. Stocks have been very lightly cleaned and re-varnished, are very nice looking, thankfully not sanded down and still maintain nice fit to the metal. No splits, no cracks, no extra holes. Bluing is a mix of patina with nice blue undertones in the sunlight, scattered oxidation marks here and there but no deep pitting whatsoever. All in all a solid special order 1894 rifle that is pleasing to look at and shoot and will certainly increase in value over time. No international sales and no sales where prohibited. This is an antique so it can be shipped direct to your door as long as your local laws allow it, must have copy of driver's license and be 21 or older please. Add $50 for packing, shipping and insurance. Payment via PayPal discreetly, bank check or USPS money orders. A 3-day non-firing inspection is allowed but do not disassemble the rifle or the inspection period will be null and void, return shipping the responsibility of the buyer. Copy of Cody Museum research sheet will be included with the rifle. Email or call with questions, concerns, reasonable offers.
