Excellent Antique 1894 Winchester. 30-30 Caliber. Mint Bright Bore. Lots Of Factory Finish.
Description:
SOLD...Antique 1894 Winchester. NEW DESCRIPTION and PHOTOS.. Here is a very nice 1894 Winchester. S/N 72813 and by Madis was made in 1896. Has the standard 26” octagon barrel. Caliber is the ever so popular 30-30. This gun retains a lot of it's factory blue. I would say the receiver has at least 50% or more blue on the left side and 40% or more on the right side. {see photos}.. It is slightly thinning but still bright. The upper and lower tangs have about 90% bright blue. The bottom swivel lever block has about 75% bright blue. The lever has about 40% vivid case color just starting to fade out a little but still very visible. The hammer has most all the bright case colors. Has the early hart shaped or widows peek hammer knurling.. The barrel has about 80% or more bright blue thinning on the edges and the mag tube has 80% bright blue... New photos today as we have sunshine so now you can see that the blue is very nice on this gun. There is a small spot of light pitting about an inch long on the lower right side of the receiver right above the lever as you can see in the photo of the right side. All the markings are excellent. The bore is mint, bright and shiny as you would expect with a high condition rifle. NO pitting, no rings or bulges..The rear sight is the very sought after Kings full buck horn style with the correct elevator.. A $200 sight by itself. The front sight is a later replacement and a taller sight with a white bead. No markings on the front sight. Hopefully you can see these in the photos or I can send you close ups of them if you want to see them better. Most all of the screw show NO tool markings but a couple have been tuned but nothing burred up and all are very serviceable. The mechanics are excellent as you would expect. It feeds, fires and ejects perfectly and shoots as good as a new gun of course. Both hammer notches are perfect and positive.. The wood is real nice also. The forearm fits very tight and proud to the metal. Still retains about 70% original varnish. Never sanded on or messed with. It show a small and very minor tight grain split on the left side right behind the end cap about an inch long that you can hardly see... It is solid and hardly visible. Nothing bad at all but just honest use. The but stock fits tight. There is a very small chip at the upper left side at the receiver and upper tang junction as you can see. A few old dings and gouges on the right side off of the upper tang.{see photos} and a small crack at the toe on both sides from being dropped on the butt plate I assume. {see photo}... You can see the one on the left side but the one on the right side is hardly even noticeable but I write honest descriptions and mention every thing I see.. They are still tight and solid..... This is a well above average 94 Winchester with a lot of finish and a mint bore for the money. No doubt the best 94 I have ever offered for sale.. Collector grade for sure. If it does not sell in a reasonable amount of time, I am keep'in it for my collection... Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos of a certain area you might want to see. I want happy customers.... I try my best to write very accurate and honest descriptions and get photos of the good and the bad... $50 insured shipping. Don't miss this one !!!!!!
