Pre-64 WINCHESTER 1894 .30-30 Saddle Ring Carbine
Description: Pre-64 WINCHESTER 1894 .30-30 Saddle Ring Carbine Great American Classic in .30 WCF Made in 1919! Here we present a Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine in .30-30, made in 1919 in New Haven, Connecticut. The credit for the design of such a prolific firearm again lies with John Moses Browning, who lent his extensive design talents to a large number of weapon types throughout his career. The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. While various cartridges were supported throughout the run of the gun, the .30-30 Winchester became its staple. In practical use, the Model 1894 became a favorite for general shooters and hunters alike. To this day, it remains a deer hunting favorite, and, in all likelihood, more deer have been taken with the 1894 than any other. This Model 1894 Carbine features a saddle ring on the left side and the shorter, handier 20-inch barrel. The left side of the barrel is marked MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED AUGUST 21 1894”. Breech end is marked “.30 WCF”. The receiver tang is marked “MODEL 1894/–WINCHESTER—”. Rear sight is a Marble’s. The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces bear strong traces of the original blue finish with the rest having worn off and an even gray patina pervading. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut stock looks like this rifle rode shotgun on many outings and remains solid. The bore is in great shape, clean with strong rifling. The action is excellent, strong and crisp. Here is a fantastic 100 year old example of one of America’s most beloved rifles. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 20 inches. Caliber: .30-30 WCF Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1100 #7412 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
