Description: Pre-64 Winchester Model 94 carbine, caliber 32 WS aka 32 Winchester Special, a very accurate and hard-hitting round, made 1927, serial number 1018991, 20" round barrel, full magazine, post front sight, special order shotgun butt with serrated steel butt plate, semi-buckhorn rear sight with 3C elevator, and saddle ring on the left side of the receiver, blued finish and walnut stocks. This is a special order carbine for 2 reasons: first, after about serial number 920,000, any Model 94 would be the "Eastern" style receiver without provision for a saddle ring, so this one would have been requested by the buyer. Also at this time, the standard carbine stock was still standard. This shotgun style butt stock has some very nice extra fancy grain, typical of Winchester with a special order gun, having the serrated steel shotgun butt that was introduced with the Model 55 in 1924, 3 years before this carbine was manufactured. CONDITION: Butt stock is tight and proud with normal usage dings. Fore arm has 2 barb-wire ouches, otherwise just minor usage marks. Neither stock has been cleaned, sanded or refinished, and there are no splits, no cracks, no extra holes. Action functions properly, including the half cock safety. Bolt has 15% bright original blue. Loading gate has 25% bright fire blue. Traces of color on hammer and lever. Barrel is 50% original fine aged blue. Mag tube 35% original fine aged blue. Receiver is patina. Bore is bright and shiny, a 9 of 10, with no frost and no pitting. Grades NRA Modern Very Good and will make a nice collector as well as shooter.
