Scarce Winchester 1894 Belgian Congo SRC 30 WCF
Description: Scarce Winchester Model 1894 SRC in caliber 30 WCF ordered to arm the Belgian Congo cavalry and infantry. A few of these carbines have surfaced and all are found in a narrow serial # range with manufacture around 1913. It is unknown how many of these were manufactured, but I've only seen a handful surface. This one has the typical gumwood stocks, as well as the factory sling and swivels mounted on the shooter's left. Also the original rear sight is marked in meters, not yards, and is still present on the carbine. Belgian proofmarks on found on the barrel and receiver. Small chip in buttstock at upper left tang can be glued back in; has not fallen out yet. Forearm has typical crack ahead of rear barrel band. Bore is mint, a 9.5 of 10 and should make a good shooter upon inspection by a competent gunsmith. Action is strong, as is half-cock safety. Guaranteed all original except for the non-factory peep sight holes on the left side of the receiver. A similar carbine is pictured on page 437 of George Madis' big "Winchester Book." This is a must-have piece if you are into martially-marked and/or foreign-marked firearms as not many are around. C&R or FFL required. Payment via money order or bank check only. 3 day non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. No international sales and no sales to California. Free shipping via USPS Priority Mail. For the past 30 years I have specialized in antique and vintage Winchester firearms, parts, sights, accessories and collectible ammunition.
