SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 RIFLE IN 38-55

Description:
Special order 26 inch half octagon barrel chambered in 38-55 caliber with a 2/3 length magazine. Shiny bore with good rifling. Barrel and magazine tube retain most of their blue finish. Sights include a beaded blade front and flattop sporting rear. Forend cap shows thinning and slight loss of blue. Walnut forearm is in good condition with a few impressions. Walnut stock has been lightly sanded and is just a hair shy at the wrist area. Rifle style buttplate. Crisp action. Judging from the condition of the front end and that there is no proof mark on the barrel, I can only assume that it has been replaced and is newer than the receiver which was manufactured in 1907. Still this is a good looking special order configuration rifle that should make for a fine shooter.
