Spectacular 1 of a Kind Winchester Model 1894 30 WCF Short Rifle
Description: This one is a true, proven, documented one of a kind special order rifle. Spectacular, near new Winchester Model 1894 30 WCF rifle has a total of 18 special order features, all documented in the factory letter provided with the rifle. Plus a scan of the Armax survey of the model 1894 shows it is the ONLY 25" matted barrel 1894 ever produced (pictures included) !! The 25" barrel makes it a short rifle as the standard length was 26", as you may know. According to the late George Madis, very few rifles in any model were ordered with barrel lengths close to the standard, and this one is no exception. It remains in superb condition, about 95% blue and 98% stock finish. The only wear is on the corners of the receiver. This rifle has not been altered, modified or restored in any way and is totally original as it is listed in the factory letter / when it was shipped from Winchester in 1903. The "line land notch" in the rear sight refers to the groove in the elevator that allows the shooter clear observance of the front sight when the elevator is applied at any setting. Outstanding case colors on hammer and lever. Mint bore. Possibly unfired. I have contacted the Cody Museum to attempt to gain more information. This is a configuration typical of Winchesters ordered by President Theodore Roosevelt. This rifle will also be featured in the latest edition of Robert Renneberg's "Winchester Model 94 - A Century of Craftsmanship" which is due out this fall. A must for the advanced Winchester collection ! PARTIAL TRADES OF WINCHESTER AND COLT CONSIDERED. Bank check, money order or wire transfer only. Sorry no credit cards or PayPal. Must ship to FFL or C&R holder. Factory letter and copy of Armax paperwork will be included with rifle. 3 day non-firing, no-disassembly inspection. No international sales. Will ship in a hard case for protection to US addresses only.
