Description: TRULY BEAUTIFUL CONDITION 1894 .38-55 OCTAGON TAKEDOWN RIFLE, #309XXX, MADE 1904. One of the nicest ’94 takedowns I’ve offered in a long time. This one shows excellent deep and rich blue on the receiver, barrel, magazine and forend cap with only the lightest of edge wear! Even the upper tang shows fine blue. Nice light case color on the lever sides and hammer back. Has the long Lyman receiver sight with patent dates ending in 1895 paired with a Lyman blade/bead front sight. The nicely grained walnut is a little high than standard grade as often seen on special rifles, like takedowns etc. Exc. stock and forend with tight wood to metal fit. Exc. bore could use a good cleaning. Screws look unturned, exc. markings, tight takedown. This is a super nice 1894 in a great caliber plus takedown feature with extra sights and all in superb condition!
