UNUSUAL 1894 .38-55 CALIBER HALF OCTAGON/FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE, MADE 1899
Description: UNUSUAL 1894 .38-55 CALIBER HALF OCTAGON/FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE, MADE 1899, according to the Winchester Handbook by Madis, only 3633 1894s had part-round barrels and most that I've seen have had half magazines (which was standard when a half-oct. barrel was ordered unless specifically requested for a full mag.), this one also has slightly better than standard walnut in the butt stock with some fiddle back grain- often a hand selected piece of walnut was used on special order rifles- fine deep receiver blue that is ageing/mixing a little plum, exc. wood with very tight wood to metal fit, fine barrel and mag blue with some light normal scuffing and some ageing, exc. screws, original Winchester buckhorn rear sight with blade front sight, bore a little dark only and should clean about exc., overall very fine appearance, rare features, great caliber and fine condition make this a good investment Winchester 1894. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Winchester Model: 1894 1/2 Oct. Full Mag rifle Serial Number: 180XXX Caliber Info: .38-55 Condition: fine+ Barrels: 26" 1/2 Oct. |
