Very Nice Winchester Model 1894 Rifle Chambered in .32-40
Description:
Serial #248666, .32-40, 26" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has minor freckling within the grooves. This is a 1904-made rifle that has 50-60% of the original blue remaining on the barrel and magazine tube, with the balance faded to a mottled pewter gray that has small spots of plum-brown freckling at the midpoint of the barrel, on the rear exposed portion of the magazine, and on the nosecap of the forend. The frame has a mostly gray-brown patina, but retains visible traces of the original blue on protected areas. The hammer and lever have some fairly bright original color case-hardening still present, with the balance turned to a mottled plum-brown. The barrel has a sporting bead front sight (missing the set screw) mated to a semi-buckhorn rear sight. The uncheckered walnut forend and straight-wrist buttstock have some minor handling marks and small surface blemishes scattered about the original oil finish, but no cracks or chips. The action locks tightly and functions flawlessly. Included is a Cody sheet showing the 1904 production date and features of the rifle.
This is a very good plus Model 1894 rifle, and in a very desirable caliber. FFL or C&R;
