VERY RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 94/95 VARIATION SRC
Description:
Standard 20 inch carbine configuration with 20 inch barrel, saddle ring and carbine butt. Barrel and mag tube have thinning original blue chambered in 30 WCF caliber with an outstanding bright shiny bore. Crisp action. Receiver is a gray/brown patina with some blue in the protected area around the saddle ring. Carbine ladder rear with ramped front sight from the Model 95. Wood is good looking and has a nice fit with the usual dings and wear present. The barrel on this rare variation is from the Model 95, 30-03/30-06 N.R.A. Musket. They were cut down from the original 24 inch length to eliminate the 30-03/30-06 chamber, and re-chambered to 30 WCF, then roll-marked with correct Model 94 barrel markings, and rethreaded and fitted on Model 94 receivers. The majority of these were 21-3/4 inch versions, and about 30 known 20-inch examples, all have rifling with 1-in-10 inch twist of the 30-03/30-06, instead of the 1-in-12 twist normally used for the 30 WCF. With only about 30 known, this is a very rare collectable Winchester for the hole in your 1894 collection!
