Description: General Specs: Winchester, Year 1903, .30WCF, 7lbs 11oz, LOP 13 1/16" Serial Number: 275624 The Model 1894 was the first Winchester rifle made for use with the new technology of smokeless powder and was developed as a hunting rifle. Over 7.5 million were produced from 1894 until 2006. Showing an excellent bore with strong rifling this all-original rifle is serial numbered 275624, it was built in 1903 and is in excellent mechanical condition. A rare find, very few Winchester 1894 rifles were ordered from the factory with a full length magazine AND a half round barrel. Additionally the barrel is fitted with a Winchester Express 34D rear sight, this sight has all its leaves intact and features platinum inlay-itself an upgrade, it is marked 50-1-2 for fifty, one hundred and two hundred yards, a Lyman Front Hunting sight with an ivory bead sits at the loud end. Complimenting the barrel mounted sights is a tang mounted Marbles Flexible Rear peep sight. The metal wears a pleasing warm patina only achievable with age and regular maintenance, the lever, hammer, and trigger show 90% original factory case color. The furniture bears some field marks attesting to a life spent doing what it was built for! The forend is metal capped, a well fitted crescent buttplate completes the rear of the gun. With its magazine holding nine .30WCF cartridges this gun can be loaded once on Sunday for a full week of hunting!
