Listing a Winchester saddle ring carbine, caliber 30 w.c.f. more commonly known as the 30/30.serial number 969858 dates to 1926 about the tail end of the saddle ring carbines .old fella told me by then ranchers were using model A's no need for a saddle rifle , started calling them eastern carbines , who knows , room is full of opinions . any way mechanically she's nice, locks up tight , great bore and shooter, has the full buckhorn Marbels rear carbine sight .Winchester used Gum wood on their carbines , most of them anyway , outer part of the tree , lacking any grain ,keep the cost down as many were broken if a horse went down . Looks like someone tried to finish it at one time but it's pleasant to look at , not all messed up. If you want a true old Winchester saddle ring in a great iconic cartridge , here she be, and not priced bad either. she's carrying a kinda brown patina , no pits or cracks of any sort. needs to be shipped to your C&R or FFL, I'd need $45. for shipping and insurance and three days to look her over , no firing or dismantling ,  if you so desire you can ship it back for a refund , less shipping , any questions , feel free to call
