Winchester Model 1894 30WCF Semi-Deluxe Multiple Special Options
Description: You are viewing one used but in very good condition Winchester Model 1894 rifle in caliber 30WCF (30-30). This rifle is serial # 411934 and was manufactured approximately 1908. This rifle has several special order options: 24" extra light weight barrel that measures just over 1/2" across the flat of the muzzle (2 special options alone), a 2/3 magazine that measures 16" (uncommon as most extra lights had 1/2 magazines), takedown, plain pistol grip with correct Winchester logo grip cap (although stocks have "extra finish" grain common to special order Winchesters ordered without fancy stocks), and style "I" checkering. Matching assembly numbers appear on butt stock and lower tang (see pic). Stocks are sound, no splits or cracks, never sanded or refinished, no abuse or extra holes, just many nicks and dings from normal use, forearm getting a grain check near receiver at shooter's right. Checkering is style quite sharp and has not been freshened. Bore is excellent with strong rifling and only minor wear, no pitting, just starting to darken slightly in the grooves, an 8 of 10 and might clean better. Action is tight and crisp, half-cock safety functions properly, should be a good shooter upon inspection by a competent gunsmith. Takedown is very tight and functions as it should. Crescent butt plate exhibits much color case hardening, may have been redone (uncommon for an extra lightweight to have a crescent butt, shotgun butt was the norm). Barrel and mag tube exhibit 75% bright blue turning plum. Receiver exhibits 65% deep plum blue with hints of bright blue in the right light. Some punch dot marks exist on both sides of the takedown flange, presumable done by someone who didn't know how to operate the takedown properly. All in all a very good example of an 1894 extra light weight rifle with great special features and an uncommon configuration that is surely to go up in value over time. Must ship to C&R or FFL holder. No sales to California and no international sales. Add $50 for shipping and insurance. Thanks for looking!!
