Good plus bore that shows scattered salt & pepper pitting and lightly worn rifling. The 26" barrel retains about 80% evenly thinning original blue finish starting to blend with a pleasing smooth brown patina. Takedown feature is very tight, no wobble. The crisp action retains about 15% original blue finish which is strongest toward the rear of action with the balance being mostly a smooth brown patina. Half-cock safety functions properly and the mainspring is still very strong. The hammer and lever retain about half of their original color case-hardened finish which is quite bright in protected areas. The checkered pistolgrip buttstock and forend are of beautifully figured American black walnut and rate very good with about 85% original oil finish remaining and with the forend checkering lightly worn from carry wear and with normal light handling marks present. The lower left tang shows an assembly number along with "XX", this same number is stamped into the top tang inlet of stock. The checkered hard rubber shotgun buttplate rates very good with a small chip at the toe and the buttstock shows a tiny chip probably 1/8" square. The rifle is sighted with the standard German silver blade front sight with set screw and series 22 flat top rear sight . Included with the rifle is a Winchester leather leg-of-mutton takedown case which is marked on tab "15W / 26 / G30094" and is the proper style/model for this 26" rifle. The condition of the case is excellent with the leather tabs showing some wear from years of being opened and closed. This is a really nice 94 deluxe takedown that shows honest use.
