Winchester Model 1894 Rifle in 38/55 Caliber
Description:
Nice Old Winchester Model 1894 chambered in 38/55 Caliber. Serial # 225xxx (1901 Vintage). Round Barrel, Full Magazine. Excellent Bright Bore. Metal retains 85%+ Original Blue with traces of Case colors on the Lever and lots on the hammer. Receiver has Very Good Blue Coverage with a few very minor scratches while the Barrel, Magazine Tube and Forend Cap are nearly flawless. Gun has much more blue than the photos show. I photo a lot of guns outside and in a lot of cases, the blue does not show well with the glare. Wood retains high 80's % Original Varnish with several minor scratches, little dings and mars which would be expected on a gun nearly 115 years old. Still a Pretty Strong Speciman for its vintage. You will notice the left side of the receiver has been drilled for a receiver sight. A receiver sight was made available for these old rifles in the early 30's and this could have been drilled at that time. FFL or C&R Required. Thanks for looking.
